The Millenniumpark in Chicago is a good example of a sensegiving process of decision making by the City of Chicago. The park was not finished in 2000 but in 2004 and the costs have risen up to almost 500 Million dollars. Not only because of this it is a must-see when you visit Chicago. It is amazing, wonderful, beautiful... Many many people enjoy being there. In no time Chicago had a new icon and as the Mayor said “our front garden back”. It is an inspiring environment, also for cities like New York, Cologne and Amsterdam which are struggeling with new metrolines. In the end, when the work is done, everyone is happy with the result. And that is priceless because it means far more to people than money can buy.

I have just returned from the excellent Academy of Management meeting in Chicago. About what I learned there I will publish in the next blog.
